Mar 20, 2008 The 2007-2008 hockey season will go down in Kents Hill athletic history as one of the strongest and most successful seasons ever. Coach Larry Cockrell's boys varsity Hockey team finished with an overall record of 20-8-4, a league record of 18-4-3, and captured the school's first New England Prep School championship by defeating the New Hampton School 2-1 in the Division 2 final game.
Coach Cockrell commented, "Roman Khromushkin's contribution towards the team's success this year was critical. I asked Roman to move back and play defense because I felt we needed somebody who would add size, strength and strong skating ability to that position. Although Roman is a natural forward, as he became more and more comfortable playing defense, his play became quite reliable, especially in our defensive zone. By season's end and particularly in the playoffs, Roman's play was very strong and I thought he was one of the best players on the ice in the championship game. I am grateful for everything that Roman has brought to the Kents Hill campus and to the hockey team. It has been my true pleasure to coach Roman and we are a stronger hockey program because of him."
