I was born in Ukraine, which is the city where I lived for all my life. I have mother father and a younger sister, whose name is Katya, who is 14 years old. However, when I was in the second grade Ivan Pravilov came to my school and invited me to ice rink to try skate on the ice. That is how I found out about hockey club “Druzhba-78 I started playing hockey when I was 8 years old. I just turned 18 on 4-th of July. I love hockey very much. But after I played hockey with boys for ten years, the Ukraine government banned women from playing men’s hockey. And there is no women’s hockey in Ukraine. The only way I could continue play hockey, which is the most important part of my life is to come study to USA. Now I study at Berkshire school, which I like very much, where I get a great education and a lot of support in what I’m doing. That became possible only because of Gene’s Kinashewich Fund. And I still think its miracle that there are people like Gene. And I don’t know how else, except working hard, I can show how much I appreciate given chance to play hockey and get a great education, which a lot of the American children don’t get.
